PRACTICE TEACHING PHASE 2 -DAY 18 INNOVATIVE WORK
I reached at the school at 8 am. I marked the attendance. I had class today in the morning at 8th standard in the third period. I started with the new chapter Our Government and taught them about the legislature of our nation. I was able to present my innovative work to the students of the class.
INTRODUCTION
An innovative work can be defined as a " new idea, device or method". It is something original and more effective and as a consequence new that 'breaks into' the pupil . Two interesting dimensions of innovation including degree of novelty and type of innovation. Innovative work should be a catalyst to growth . Innovation may be linked to positive changes in efficiency, productivity, quality, competitiveness and intellectual development. Through innovative work the teacher can improve students performance by providing group work opportunities and resources to innovate. It is necessary to create and nurture an environment of innovation.
DESCRIPTION OF INNOVATIVE
As a part of my teaching practice phase II, I adopted an innovating work based on the class 8 chapter, Our Government. My innovative work was a Rotating disc. I used my innovative work by dividing the students into 11 groups. I gave them time to discuss about the various functions of Legislature, Executive and Judiciary and also about Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
After that I gave my innovative work to one group and asked the leader of that group to ask questions with the help of my innovative work to the other group. All the groups participated in the work and they all were able to understand the major topic.
ADVANTAGES OF INNOVATIONS
The biggest challenge any teacher faces is capturing the students' attention and putting across ideas in such a way that it stays with them long after they have left the classroom. For this to happen ,classroom experience should be redefined and innovative ideas that make teaching learning methods more effective should be implemented. It helps the teacher to reinvent their teaching methods and make their classes interesting. The use of innovative methods in the classroom has the potential not only to improve education, but also to empower people, strengthen governance and galvanized the effort to achieve the human development goal for the country.
REFLECTION AND CONCLUSION

Here I tried to demonstrate the very important features of legislature through activities . I hope it will be very useful for the students.Children could learn the things through playing so, I named' Match me if you can' for it. The main purpose of this work was to understand about legislature.
Children were very interested for doing the activities. They were familiarizing with the topic of legislature unknowingly. I could notice a change in their attitude for studying. Through this innovative work, I found that students were really concentrating on all the questions and answers as they predicted that I would ask them repeated questions. So, they were more prepared and energetic.
I had substitution in 3 F in the 6th period. I had class at 9th standard in the 7th period and I taught them with the new chapter National Income. The students were very interested to learn the new chapter. At 3 pm we marked the attendance and left the school.
